Part time Practice Receptionist / Administrator

25 hours over 5 days

Supporting the practice team over two sites, your duties will be interesting and varied.  You will need to be computer literate, with good interpersonal skills and a flexible and professional manner.  Good customer care skills are essential.  Some clerical work will be involved. Please note you will be working in a call centre environment. 25 hours each week by rota, this will involve mornings, afternoons, some late evenings until 8:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings.

Health Care Assistant

20 Hours per week.

We have an opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our enthusiastic and friendly team.

Leighton Road Surgery is a large, friendly, dynamic, training practice with a patient list of 22,000. We offer a complete spectrum of services and endeavour to put the patient first by adopting best practice.

Duties will include phlebotomy, health screening using The NHS Health Check, hypertension monitoring, spirometry, and assisting GPs with minor procedures.

An ability to work unsupervised and learn new skills, coupled with a passion for high standards of professional care is essential.  In return you will be given support and encouragement to develop your role and contribute to the development and implementation of nursing and health care services.

Prior experience of working in a health care setting is desirable.

Minor Illness / Practice Nurse

27 hours per week.

We have an opportunity for an experienced practice nurse / minor illness nurse to join our enthusiastic and friendly team. Leighton Road Surgery is a large, friendly, dynamic, training practice with a patient list of 22,000. We realise that on the day emergency appointments are demanding and therefore we have created a post that will allow the successful candidate to have the exciting challenge of working between routine practice nursing and minor illness appointments.

Up- to- date knowledge and skills, coupled with a passion for high standards of professional care is essential, as is the ability to rise to new challenges.  In return you will be given support and encouragement to develop your role and contribute to the development and implementation of nursing services.

Prior experience of working in a GP setting as a Practice Nurse, Minor Illness Nurse, Walk in centre or A&E experience is preferable.

Dispenser

We are a busy, friendly dispensing doctors’ surgery in Leighton Buzzard with over 22,000 patients looking for a Dispenser to join our Dispensary team.

We require 30 hours per week over 5 days.  Exact shift times will be agreed with the successful applicant but it will be between the hours of 08.30 and 17.30, Monday to Friday. We currently work over 2 sites in the locality.

You will need to have an NVQ 2 in Pharmacy services and we are looking for the following attributes:

  • Accuracy and a good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be in daily contact with medical staff and the general public.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to cover periods of leave.
  • A genuine caring, honest and positive attitude.
